One of the hormones your body produces involved in weight control is leptin. Leptin is the hormone that tells you when you've eaten enough. If you have low levels of leptin, as many people who are obese do, you tend to feel hungry most of the time. Things you can do to help regulate normal production of leptin:
Get adequate sleep. Your body produces leptin while you sleep.
Eat a diet containing fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel and sardines(yuck!). Studies show that eating fatty fish increases leptin levels. Taking Omega 3 fish oil supplements is an alternative to eating fish(yeah!).
Reduce the amount of saturated fat in your diet and watch your alcohol intake. Both can make your leptin levels drop.
